Question 1

How do I add my house to the map?

Accepted Answer

Sign up for a free account, which only takes a minute, then tap ‘Add Stop’ on the map. Add a photo of your lights and the times they are on, so people know when to come and see them.

Question 2

Can I add a business or an event?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Add a shop, pub or village display as a stop in the same way. Switch-ons, grottos, carol concerts and other Christmas events have their own place on the Events page.

Question 3

Can I edit or remove my stop?

Accepted Answer

Any time. Go to My Stop to change your details, or scroll to the bottom and tap ‘Delete Stop’ to take it off the map.

Question 4

Can I add more than one stop?

Accepted Answer

Each account can add one stop. For another location, you will need another account.

Question 5

Who can see my stop?

Accepted Answer

Only people nearby. Everyone can see a small area around them for free, and upgraded accounts can see a little further, but nobody can see the whole map.

Question 6

I added a Trick or Treat stop at Halloween. Is it on this map?

Accepted Answer

No. The Christmas lights map is separate, so add your lights as a new stop. Your Trick or Treat stop is kept safely and is not changed by anything you do here.

Question 7

Is the map free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It is free to explore and free to add your lights. Optional upgrades unlock extra features, but the basics are free for everyone.

Question 8

Where does the map work?

Accepted Answer

Everywhere. Wherever you live, you can add your lights and look for displays near you. How many you will find depends on how many people nearby have added theirs, so please tell your neighbours.

Question 9

When is the map open?

Accepted Answer

It stays open until 4 January 2027.

Question 10

Is there an app?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It is called On Your Street, and it is free for iPhone and Android.

Question 11

What do I get when I upgrade?

Accepted Answer

You can see more of the map and use more of its features. Everything included is listed on the upgrade screen before you pay.

Question 12

Is it a subscription?

Accepted Answer

No. It is a one-time payment that lasts until the map closes on 4 January 2027, so there is no surprise charge later.

Question 13

I upgraded for Trick or Treat. Does that carry over?

Accepted Answer

No. An upgrade covers one season, so the Christmas map has its own.

Question 14

Are payments secure?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On the website they are handled by our payment processor, Stripe. In the app they go through the App Store or Google Play.

Question 15

What competitions are there?

Accepted Answer

Best Lights Display, Christmas Jumper and Gingerbread House. Each has its own page under Competitions, with the prize and closing date.

Question 16

How do I enter and vote?

Accepted Answer

Open the competition, add your photo and share your entry with friends and family so they can vote for it. The full rules are on each competition page and in our competition terms.

Question 17

Can I use my Trick or Treat account?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sign in with the same details and you are ready to go.

Question 18
